Aretta Hill “Songstress of our Galaxy”

A lot of people look at Huntsville as this rap haven that came out of nowhere. To be honest Huntsville use to be a major playground for Zapp & Roger, Chaka Khan, Parliament, and many others back in the 70’s and early 80’s with sold out shows and trips to the local projects to get their feel of Huntsville’s soul. You got people like Kelvin Wooten who reside here Huntsville. Kelvin has worked on Jill Scott’s album, Raphael Saadiq, and Anthony Hamilton to name a few. We were also blessed with the talents of the late great Chalmers “Spanky” Alford who also lived in Huntsville up until his death in 2008. One of their protegés as well as a Slow Motion Soundz Alumni is Aretta Hill.  She sung the hook on “Cold Blooded” on the first Hood Headliners mixtape. Check out some of her music below.
